Danish wedding

My mother in law has met her man!

We spent the weekend in Sæby, a small town near Fredrikshavn in Denmark, where Oddrun and Ove, the newly wedds, live together.
It's only a few hours away by ferry boat and car.  Today the ferry takes about 4,5 hours, but when the new ferries are set in service the trip will decres to approximately 2,5 hours.
The ferry departure from Kristiansand (N) and arrives in Hirtshals (Dk). From Hirtshals there is about 45 min by car to Sæby.
Ove has two married daughters and 5 grandchildren so our family has grown quite a bit over the weekend :-)

Fuel

As promissed to my english  readers I will continue writing some stories in English. This happend on Saturday. It was a wonderful day, the sun stood 
high and bright and Ellen and I wanted to have a picknic with her 
sister Berit, her husband Jarle and their two lovely boys, 
Sondre (4,5) and Simon(1,5). Jarle had to drive me to work where I last night had left my car.
On my way home I made a short stop to tank some gas.
Hughe mistake!!
After just 10 meters my car started to "cough" and then stoped. 
I could not understand what was wrong, I tried to start it again 
but got no response.  I thought the fuelpump of my car had broken and didn't pump fuel to the engine. So I called for help from 
a local rescue car and sat waiting in my car. After a while I got 
bored and got out. I then noticed two other cars standing at a bus
stop just a few yards away and thought I'd go ask if they had problems as well. It turned out they had experienced the same as I had. It was clear the problem was the fuel and not the cars. I called the local supervicor of the unmanned Statoil station and asked him to come up and shut down the station and to check the tanks. I also started to tell all that arrived at the station that they should go somewhere else to get fuel. After a while the supervisor arrived and we had my suspicion confirmed. there was diesel in the petrol tank and vica versa. I was promissed to be contacted to sort out how I could get compensation and get refund for any expences needed to fix my car. My car was then towed to the nearest car repair and was picked up by Jarle, who had driven me to work in the first place to get my car.

Her er siste bilde av vårt ufødte barn.
Dette er tatt i uke 18 så nå begynner det for alvor å vise seg på Ellen også.
I skrivende stund er vi kommet til uke 19. Vi har fått termin 27 mars 2008 så det er ca 21 uker igjen med forberedelser.

Working in Moscow

I have just returned from a week of work in Moscow. I have been working for the newly merged company StatoilHydro and also managed to make a quick stop at both the Hydro Aluminium and Hydro Polymers office. But the main reason for the trip was to help the former Hydro employees with the new common tools used by StatoilHydro. The week contained of quite long working hours so I didn't have a chance to really look around in Moscow, but my hotel, the Golden Ring was right down the center so I had a walk down to Kremlin, the red square and all the other famous buildings. Moscow is considered the biggest town in Europe with more than 12 million citizens.
More information is yet to come.....

Bergenstur

I helgen var vi tilbake til vårt kjære Bergen. Planen var å pusse opp stue og soverom, men når jeg først startet ble jobben noe mer omfattende enn først tenkt. Grunnarbeidet gjort av tidligere eiere gjorde at jeg måtte konsentrere meg om stua. Jeg fikk heldigvis god hjelp av både Kjell og Norvald, mens Ellen og Silje var ute og shoppet. Vi brukte en god del tid på å være sosiale også slik at jeg må ta turen over om ikke lenge for å gjøre ting ferdig. Sannsynligvis blir jeg nødt til å ordne det slik at jeg kan jobbe i Bergen en ukes tid og så pusse opp på kveldstid.

To my english readers

Hi all English speaking friends.
I was recently told that I had visitors from America looking at my blogg, so I thought I should write a few words in English as well.
As most I use my blogg to tell about all the special and not so special things in my life. This year has been quite an adventurous one. Ellen and I bought a house and moved from Bergen to Fevik, a small village down south in Norway. A big change living in a 70 square meter flat in Bergen to a 253 square meter house with garage, big backyard and outdoor swimming-pool.
Ellen had to get a new job, while I continued in my old job only to change office location. I am currently working as a consultant for Norsk Hydro a huge aluminium (US. aluminum) company with factories all over the world. This work took me to Kurri Kurri in Australia for some weeks this spring. Earlier work has brought me to several places in Norway, Denmark, Finland, England and Belgium, and I will possibly go on a new trip somewhere in the world during this autumn as well.
Ellen who is a educated singer has started as singing educator in a kindergarten in our local community, she also have some students coming to our house for lessons and do some jobs as freelance artist. Keeps her really busy.
Aug. 4. 2007 we got married!
The evening before the wedding we invited all our guests to a sailing trip with a nice old sailingboat among the skerries. It was a three hour idyllic trip where we served white vine and fresh shrimps from a local fisherman. The next day was the wedding and the wedding reception and festivities at the local hotel.
As for the latest of all good things in my life we are now expecting a child. It's jet to early to say much about this, with only 3 months in the pregnancy, but we are incredible proud and happy.
